The cool thing is to actually teach in line with Krashen is actually easier than I originally thought.
By the way, the kids are really loving this Children’s Book Project. I edited all their text and now we will spend about a week just reading and discussing all of their stories.
The crazy thing is that even the activities that you and Tina have that are meant to “burn a day” are so much more meaningful than anything traditional teaching could offer- plus it generates new FCR reading and material to discuss in class.
THe invisibles system is by far more revolutionary than the invention of targetting. In addition to what you mention above, it puts communication and interpersonal skills at the forefront. I truly have made new and inventive CI activities from the 7 question sequence. Also, it has been a stepping stone (remember that book?) towards even more NT and developing and maintaining awesome relationships with my students. Now, if only we can get others on board… especially students who become defensive to it.
