That’s right. It’s all about learning the process and there’s no need to plan beyond that. Really the Star Sequence is all you need. It’s just a shame that the teacher prep programs aren’t teaching it. We have a new teacher in my department who had a CI teacher as a cooperating teacher during student teaching. She basically had to learn the real stuff from her cooperating teacher and then learn the “official” stuff (that doesn’t work) for her University.
Thanks for the comment Greg! It’s fitting that you, a prolific commenter on the old blog, would make the very first comment in this new format. Hopefully, we will start to talk again like the old days after this recent heinous hiatus of recent years.
I would be so genuinely happy if we could once more express – in honest and transparent fashion as we did in the old days – what we actually experience in our profession with no mincing of words.
