Hi, Skip, great idea. If I can get to school before I leave, I can grab some writing samples.
That would be great! Now if only I don’t forget:) Can’t wait to see you again…
Also, if you were on the list to receive a book and never received one could you respond here? I have a couple more that I have duplicates of…I could bring them…
skip the current people for books are listed below, but it hasn’t taken off. If we still have a shot at making it work, here is the description of the program again for those interested:

German Books to:
Brigitte Kahn
10 Suburban Lane
Nesconset, NY 11767
French books to:
Jen Schongalla
Sant Bani School
19 Ashram Rd
Sanbornton NH 03269
Spanish books to:
Grant Boulanger

St. Paul, MN 55105
In that order right? Grant, how many books have you received? Have other received any?
Any idea why it hasn’t “taken off”?
I haven’t sent any because I don’t have any to send. Just started building my “library” this year.
Hey – the folks going to Breckenridge – can we do the “writing” thing there also? I do not have any samples though – (I am at a loss in the writing category; and, unfortunately, cannot make it to NTPRS)
I only do the non-corrected fluency writing so far. See Judy’s recent post on the free write question. That is basically what I do–read and respond to the content, never the form. I will try to bring a few samples to Breckenridge.
Unfortunately, I let the kids take home their composition books at the end of the year, but I will check at school. I’m sure I’ll find a couple of them kicking around.
We are beginning a new Spanish program at our school. We have no free read books and are not buying books for curriculum. We barely can afford the teacher who is TPR trained and looking forward to whatever I bring back. So, I am on the lookout for good books to buy or get at both NTPRS and iFLT. Do you folks who teach Spanish have some that are tried and true for you beginning readers. We will be starting the whole school k-8 in spanish. FINALLY! Helps that our new principal majored in Music and minored in Spanish and got a National Teacher’s Merit for teaching a 4/5th grade combination core curriculum class. She is pumping on the language that is required by our charter but hasn’t been done in years!
I will bring some samples from various levels this year… and attempt to represent a spectrum of ability.
Ooops sorry guys, not going to NPTRS but rather iFLT
