Just an FYI to folks in New England (and NY)….we are also having the Maine TCI conference in October — Oct. 10 and 11. Laurie Clarcq will be presenting this year! If you are interested in a 2-3 workshop in beautiful Maine this fall, contact Skip for more info. 🙂
Tomorrow (8/22) 10 teachers from Bangor to Biddeford and many towns in between, will be meeting for our 3rd peer coaching session… (our first was a year ago and our second in April)
I can sense a lot of energy and enthusiasm….
I will be sure to post a report on our meeting…

NEXT PEER COACHING SESSION IN MAINE: 1/25/2014 (Storm date 2/1/20140
A group of 11 teachers from Sanford to Bangor met on Thursday from 9-2 and spent a very useful time together. I will let those who attended comment on specific learnings but, for me, it was a time to continue building a group and trust. It was a time of sharing things from Dojo to Poll-everywhere. We saw the potential of using Twitter as a VERY compelling source of CI. We also had a bit of time to watch TPRS in action and give/get feedback.
I think there was a general feeling that in the future we should start with the peer coaching (having teachers practice delivering repetitive comprehensible input) and put the focus there. I totally agree and hope that we have become a close enough group that will allow for that…
Our next peer coaching date is Jan 25th 2014 with a STORM date of 2/1/2014. Time is tba but we will probably meet around 9:00. I am assuming that we will meet at USM Lewiston Auburn Campus because it is FREE and fairly central. I have NOT asked yet and will confirm soon that USM said we could use room 107 again…
Please let me know if you are going to attend… As always, I will insist on at least 5 participants in order to run it… If there are fewer we can cancel and try again on another date.
Remember, there is NO obligation and NO need to feel badly if you are unable to attend.
