Little Stephen

Angie suggested a story about Little Stephen. This one needs work but here is a preliminary test script:
smelled smoke
Help!
caught
Little Stephen‘s mom was cooking dinner in the kitchen. Suddenly she smelled smoke. She yelled, “Help!” She went upstairs to get Little Stephen.
Little Stephen‘s grandma was sleeping in the basement. Suddenly she smelled smoke. She yelled, “Help!” She went upstairs to get Little Stephen.
Little Stephen‘s dad was outside. Suddenly he saw smoke and he saw the fire. He saw mom and grandma and Little Stephen at the bedroom window!” He yelled “Jump!” They jumped.
Dad caught Little Stephen. The firefighters caught mom and grandma. Mom caught a butterfly. Grandma didn’t catch anything. Little Stephen laughed. The firefighters sang a song.
Notes:

  1. Start out the story with the actor being Little Stephen “upstairs” somewhere in the classroom. During the story mom and grandma run up to him. Have dad outside for the end of the story.
  1. use the “suddenly” chant for this.
  1. It’s not a very funny topic but with useful vocabulary and not all stories have to be funny.
