There are more than 6000 educators in Denver Public Schools. Diana Noonan, World Language Coordinator for DPS, last year won a district level award called the Leadership Lamp for her work in World Languages. (Diana is also the current president of the Colorado Coalition of Foreign Language Teachers and the reason for Denver’s rocketing WL program.) The award was given last summer in a formal setting, but I have been unable to get videotape of the event until today. Better late than never:

(The speaker is Paul Kirschling and on the far right is Julie Soldner – they are two of our best and brightest CI teachers in the district. DPS Superintendent Tom Boasberg is next to Julie. Later you see Diana’s son Anthony and and daughter Maria and yours truly with flowers from Carol Gaab since she couldn’t be there. I’m not sure who the other people are.)
