Hey, I want to riff too. Here I go:
Teach me vocabulary lists & I’ll try to memorize, but I won’t learn the language.
Teach me grammar rules & I’ll try to remember, but I won’t learn the language.
Teach me scripts to recite with classmates that I try to perform over & over,
But I won’t learn the language.
But talk with me over & over about me & mine so that’ll live in my heart forever,
And then I will learn the language with ease.
