Yay, yay, yay!!!!
They don’t happen to be available in German, do they?
Not unless you want to put them in German, but there is no German version of Houdini to my knowledge, so you would have to translate the whole book for your students as well.
Oh and Brigitte I don’t know if you were aware but Anne’s first two volumes of story scripts were conceived in German and many of us non-German teaches felt the pain of trying, each time we did a story, to get them into good French and Spanish from the English scripts we were working with. But since Anne switched high schools and languages (to French and no longer German) last year, she started writing these French scripts for Houdini for her own kids and I was quick to ask her permission to publish them. They are good, and Laura Avila did a particularly fine job on the Spanish – very first rate translation work by her. One of the scripts (“Rules of the House”) ranks among the top home run stories I have ever experienced, as my students made up rules for the house of the “Brandon” actor in our story (“no flushing the toilet at night”, “keep fridge loaded with Sprite”, “can’t drink beer without his Colombian drug lord uncle there”, etc.) So yeah, you may have to ask Carol if you can put Houdini into German if you want the extra work, but I don’t think she will actually publish it.
I need extra work like a whole in the head :-). I was just wondering. And you’re right, I absolutely love all of Anne’s story because they just klick for German.
Could we see a sample script from the book? I’m very curious to see these.
