I love this Ben. And it’s a perfect segue to my question for you and your experts! I keep finding ways to keep one story going with a class.. .For example, after we told the basic story, I had kids individually illustrate the story that I retold again but this time they illustrated a new ending. I picked a few of my favorites and showed them on the smart board. Choral readings followed by showing the illustrations and having kids basically play the flyswatter game w/verbal descriptions, etc etc.. I’m going on 3 weeks with the same story (I only see them 40 min twice a week). They’re still having fun so on one hand I feel like I can keep going but then I think I’m losing the opportunity to be introducing new stories. Also, I remember you saying you can spend too much time on the beginning levels of a story and it’s best to move ahead quickly. I’m wondering if that applies here. This is where I really value being able to rely on all of your experience for thoughts and suggestions.

My opinion it does not apply here. It is because you have done something new that includes the kids and honors their ideas. THAT holds sway, I was going to say trumps, everything in this work. Congrats!
