This is from Leigh Anne:
Hi Ben,
How are you, mon ami? It is great to see the changes in la Méthode, to know that you are continuing the discourse and that you are surviving the pushback.
Update: Well, it’s a lock. After 9 years with French 1-4, I’m being switched involuntarily to all Spanish next year.
I’m sad, but everything will be ok. I’m staying at my school, which is the important thing. No one is likely to interfere with my academic freedom or my teaching method. So, that’s really good. I like Spanish and Spanish is so much easier for me than French, so it’s win-win for me.
Question: Have you ever seen the informal e-publishing site, Tar Heel Reader? I have used it to develop Non-targeted input with my level 2 & 3 classes this year. The focus for us is not just on reading, but also on writing, as we tell each other’s stories from childhood. Thus, my NT scope and sequence for Levels II and III French is currently housed in the Tar Heel Reader.
Caveat: It is full of mistakes.
Request: Could someone take a look and help me edit?
Here’s the link:
http://tarheelreader.org/find/
But…… the person who wants to view my publications still has to search with a filter with a ‘find/search’ function to display the French books on Tar Heel Reader.
The search filters should be set to:
*Any rating
*French
Also, my publications are the ones published by student first name, period/class and month/year. Plus, they are the cute autobiographical stories with a beginning, middle and end to the story
It’s a little wonky… sorry! I can’t do anything about the system they use. Overall, I love it. It has made teaching easier for me.
