Dual Entry Journal Form

Diane mentioned Bryce’s Dual Line Reading Entry form. It is to be used with oppositionally defiant kids (or anyone else) whom we have separated out from the class in another classroom because they can’t behave.
I’m sure that no one in our PLC allows those rare truly oppositionally defiant kids the privilege of staying in class, right? That may happen in other classes, but not in ours. If the school admin and counselors and parents won’t help us, claiming it is “our job to teach all the kids” – that is only true in sick buildings – then we have recourse to move kids and we must.
Just work it out with a colleague for supervision as Diane is doing with the Valor Christian Spanish teacher and hand the kid this and tell them to start reading. I assume Bryce means they fill the form out in L1. It just gives us the accountability for the kid’s work.
