  1. When filming if you flip the phone horizontally it will fill the frame rather than having those two black bars (vertical video). If you search “no vertical video” on youtube it will explain. (Just my two cents).

    GREAT CONTENT THOUGH.

  2. Feedback is invited. What do you see working, not working? etc. I consider the demo important to convey how the Invisibles story process works w/o having to take 30 pp. in a book to do so, so let me know if it accomplishes that purpose.

    1. This came at a good time. It came at a good time. Kids were ready for another OWI. The twenty-two minute viewing was what I needed to help orient my mind to getting them into a short narration. It will take a lot of practice to get a good sense of what to accept/not accept. What was good about this was you showed how to end it in a less than perfect way. It helped me to feel that working through it is more important than how it turns out.

I did this with my French classes. French is my weaker language so I hate to limit the creativity of the kids to the limits of my vocabulary. When their idea seems so appropriate I just punt and do what we can. I do have 24 hours after they leave to get the French equivalent. It would be a lot safer and dignified to limit to a chapter lesson, but a lot less interesting. I sometimes explain (with a twinkle in my eye, I know it is their, I can feel it at the corner of my mouth) that I speak French 1 and they are trying to used French 3 words.

The better developed character was Post-Malone, a red/white/blue turnip-farmer turkey who was afraid of his belle-mère led to a more solid plot line. The character in the other class was not as fully represented in the drawing. The resulting narrative was a little more sloppy with the plot line. Tomorrow I will try step 7 and then try again after Thanksgiving.
