So the Deuxieme Livre is a Mercedes in terms of organization of the French grammar system. It’s name is misleading – it beautifully covers all four years of grammar from beginning to end in a workbook format that you just plow through whenever you need a break from whatever CI you are doing.
This is what I am suggesting in this series of articles on this lovely Monday morning in November – use CI of course but quit trying to convince people in your building that CI is better. Give up on that. Teach some grammar!
There are too many reasons to suggest this change. Sanity. Work load. Emotional frustration. Clowns to the left. Jokers to the right. The feeling of being broken down because you need a job and you need to do CI but the two don’t mesh – the school setting is just too toxic for your CI instruction to flourish. (I’m not talking about departments that are all on the same page – what a blessing!)
