If only you could spend that money (not on textbooks but) on novels, children’s books, newspapers, zines, etc. Think of the library you would have!
When I started TPRS, after attending NTPRS, I had just gone through a curriculum review and got some new textbooks and CDs, I was able to send a lot of it back to the publisher and exchange them for readers.
Nice work Melanie, I wish they would have let me sell my books back when I got there (the books were very new then), but they were afraid I might leave after a year or two and be without someone who knows how to teach beyond the book.
I am currently trying to sell the idea of giving me free rein with a percentage of the text cost…wish me luck!
