I agree. I’ve been too mentally and physically exhausted to contribute much if anything right now. This fall semester with my grad classes has been awfully tiring and I seem to be a glutton for punishment as I’m going to be presenting at the Central States Conference. I will be needing help from you all with preparing for that session which will be in March.
I also agree. I feel so close to all of you because of our endeavors and one day I wish to meet you all at a conference, perhaps. With the loss our world has experienced, it is enough to say a break is needed. I also hope it’s appropriate to say here to you, my online friends and colleagues, that I’m suffering due to putting my beloved dog to sleep this very morning at 4am. I have to heal my heart. I’m not sure how I will pull through this last week before Christmas break but it does help to know I have you all to fall back on when the time has come again to forge ahead.
Thank you.
Take care of yourself during this time. We had to put our cat down in the summer, and as I’d just had surgery, I couldn’t pet him or hold him to say goodbye. Hard times when we love our animals so–and they love us so unconditionally. Pamper yourself a bit as you grieve.
peace–
A break is a great idea. I agree with Robert about checking in on folks who may be in crisis. Thank you all for your steadfast support. We have something amazing here in each other, in our individual and collective consciousness. A real gift indeed. May we all remember and turn to our inner strength, especially when we need it most. Simple idea. Not easy by any stretch. That’s why it’s a practice. Anyway, here is one of my favorite reminders. I need lots of reminders because I am forgetful and tend to get caught up in drama if i am not careful.
“Peace is not the absence of chaos & conflict, but rather finding yourself in the midst of that chaos & staying calm in your heart.”
Peace and hugs to all,
🙂 jen
I have 3 school days before the break. Whew! I wish everyone Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and a lovely time to rest and recover.
Full week here
Time to reflect on “l’essentiel.” Although the merry part kind of sticks in my throat, I wish you all a peaceful, calm, restorative Christmas season close to those whom you hold near and dear.
yes, as I just told skip in an email, I am just feeling very numb right now. I am trying to plan for the week, but can’t wrap my head around it, since I have no clue where the kids’ heads will be.
I ditto what Chill says: have a peaceful, re-FRESHing and CALM Christmas break, and may 2013 bring everyone some happiness
Ben,
Please follow through on the rest through January. You know I worry about you and your ability to sustain the pace…. I it imperative this work continues and, it is much better to take a good rest to recharge than to have to stop due to fatigue and burn-out.
One question though….. Is there any way (an easy way??) for us to share email addresses? I have really wanted to reach out to a few blog members lately but was not able to because I don’t know the email addresses.
I will share mine here: muybien.crosby@gmail.com
Thank you for all you do and all this work means to so many. I REALLY am looking forward to going back and reading through a lot of the posts that I have missed this fall. The break is really important. Please enjoy the time…and Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Peace, love, and light to all.

Instead of “Merry Christmas” we should wish everyone a joyful one. The joy that we need to carry deep in our soul to keep living well. So a joyful Christmas to you all. Frohe Weihnachten!
Basically, yes, let’s have a respite. The exception I would make is for Jeff and anyone else who is in crisis; we need to be their support team.
Robert,
Thank you!
Jeff
I can’t seem to hit the release button on Jeff’s stuff, and I know he has a meeting today with an administrator, the good one, about what is going on. So bear with me Robert and Jeff and those following that thread. I will when I can. I can’t right now.
I think the break is a good idea. Just like with true acquisition, many of the bugs get worked out by our unconscious mind while we sleep. I will probably spend some of the time re-reading posts and digesting all the great insights that have occurred on this list. My email is john.piazza@yahoo.com
Thank you to all of those who share so much of themselves in this space. This
PLC is a sacred place to me and although I don’t contribute much, I feel the presence of all of you at my side each day. I wish you all peace and time to refresh your soul over the holidays. Please know that your Canadian teaching colleagues are grieving with you over Friday’s tragic events. There is a candle burning in my heart for you all.
Again many thanks…
Michelle in Canada
This is a good idea, I have not been able to keep up lately with everything going on all around us.
You are a wonderful group and amazing support system (who needs therapy?). Thanks to all of you for being who you are. I wish you and your loved ones a peaceful time in between the years and beyond.
P.S.: My email is bkahn at msd dot k12 dot ny
Mine is tripp@mail2jimdotcom
Thanks Ben (and everyone else) for keeping us going… in whatever form that may take right now. Best to all.
Jim
May you all be blessed with health and happiness .
No words can express how grateful I am to have found this blog and community of incredible human beings with whom I can share about work and so much more.
Yes I am also in to do 26 good deeds in memory of those who perished.
My email is ssebbanjanczak@yahoo.com
I love this place. I am so grateful for all of you. I am so relieved that I can take the next few weeks to read the archives and not worry about staying up with everything (not that I have been as I have felt insane for the last month).
Okay, I am clueless, why are peops putting their email address in?
Skip asked if there were a way to get e-mail address since he would like to contact a few people, so everyone simply started giving their address.
May you all spend time with people you love and share peace. judyldubois@aol.com
I will compile them so that we have two Group Members categories, one for bios and one for email addresses. Send them to me at benslavic@yahoo.com and/or put them here and then we can move them into the new emails category from there as they are sent in. Thanks for suggesting that skip.
Sounds like a great idea, break and email list. May you have a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones if you are celebrating.
