Here is a letter Bob sent out to his Latin group and other groups, including our PLC:

Dear friends,

By now most of you have heard that I was honored this past week to be named the Teacher of the Year for the Southern region (SCOLT) which comes under the umbrella of ACTFL (The American Council on Teaching of Foreign Languages). I know this because I have received such warm messages from you for which I am most grateful.  I want to share with you the letter (attached below) that the Director of FL for the State of GA sent out to our State Board of Ed, the Superintendent of Ed for the State, and some others.

If you read through the letter, you see the work that I have and continue to be engaged in with you and our communities highlighted there.  For me, this is the best part of all of this.  The work that we are doing, have been doing for a long time and will continue to be dedicated to enjoys some attention in this moment.  If I should gain the national position as well, even more the benefits for what we do, I hope.

If can be so bold to suggest, please use any of this in any way that might support or highlight or encourage the work that we do together.  While it is important to me to be a good teacher, and while I enjoy the honors this affords me, I am clearer than ever that nothing for which I am being honored is my singular accomplishment.  I have and continue to grow from all our associations and work together.  In any regard, it so delighted me today to see us showing up in this letter.  I hope you can see yourselves in it as well.

Bob
