The part that is particularly wonderful about this is that Katya presented at our local Bilingual Conference last week. I’d never been before, but it’s a huge conference. The president showed me a copy of this newspaper and pointed out a beautiful woman in a quspuk, saying “There’s Abby! Get a picture with her and Katya.” The minute Abby and I got in arm’s distance, we hugged.
Now we’ve been e-mailing like crazy. She’s planning to come to the AFLA conference in October. Today I wrote her to say that I was really glad that she exists (meaning more than on paper), and she wrote back, saying, “I know. It’s like we’re the same species or something.”
That’s the way I’ve felt about meeting TPRS teachers ever since Ben started me on this path, exactly two years ago. We have the same goals in mind, so we all want everyone to have the chance to achieve them. That’s why it’s such a wonderful community.
