Welcome Amy! I teach French 1-4 too. I’m also brand new to TPRS/CI. I’m in my second year of teaching and about 2 months into TPRS/CI. It sounds like I was in the same boat as you. I had decided for all intents and purposes that I was not returning to teaching after this year. But my mind has completely changed now because this method answers all the questions I had and also is just COMPLETELY logical. My classroom management is still deplorable and some days are just plain chaos even with my best class, but that is a seperate issue from TPRS/CI. Now that I’m focused on my kids and not my agenda, though, my classroom mangagment (even though I hate that term) is improving.
Good luck to you! Isn’t this a great ride!?
