Those six principles/”core practices” – I have to put them in quotes because I can’t take them seriously – that Alisa brought up won’t leave my mind, and hence me, alone, since I am what I think. Kind of.
I keep thinking about them. They are just too juicily wrong and out of touch with anything that really goes on in a foreign language classroom. What they say is just way too much in conflict with the research.
I’m just posting them here, for those interested in how this will develop over the next month with ACTFL, as I follow up over the next few weeks in an effort to call bullshit on ACTFL. Someone has to call them out on this and it may as well be us.
At first Alisa thought that they were made up by some blogger, but it turns out they are actually on the ACTFL website! It may again be Emperor’s New Clothes Time.
