A Blow To His Confidence 19

K sent this as a follow up to Noah’s note:
Mr. Slavic,
I saw your post – yes, that was very cool. The funny thing is that Noah sent that by himself , so I didn’t know that he sent that e-mail until he and all of the other kids that do lunch stories told me. Then, they proceeded to tell me, and by extension all TPRS teachers thank you in FRENCH! I was pretty amazed. One thing that I thought was really cool in their speech was “You are always thinking, but unlike most teachers who think about how big of a failure kids are for not understanding, you are always thinking about how to help us get it, and if we already get it, how to make it more fun with more student involvement. Everything is progress!”
Thank you – you all do that as well!

[ed. note: … but hold on a minute. This line:
“… most teachers … think about how big of a failure kids are for not understanding…”.
That line kind of got me. K ask Noah what percentage of kids he thinks feel that way. That is a most alarming sentence. The first word “most” when referring to teachers is the concern I have.]
