Sorry K I’ve dropped the ball on these recent emails, and thank you for the updates:
Reaction of teachers to our story: It was, and still is GREAT! I talked to all of the teachers afterwards. They were all laughing and smiling. I had one person say “That was so great… I’ve not had kids be that invoved in a lesson in years!” The girl who played Lindsey [Vonn] in our story, was great. I guess that she was not doing to well and basically refused to participate in her class so her teacher was amazed and said “Anything that gets her involved must be good – sign me up” …. there were some interesting looks , but after my teacher said that test scores went up 20% after doing this method through French at lunch, they all agreed to it. They enjoyed the reading and were truly shocked – some speechless at the level of comprehension and reading ability . French class is held in the auditorium everyday now – it’s the only way we can fit everyone. There’s a teacher that translates the French story into Spanish and the Spanish kids also do some acting. My teacher and a few others have even agreed not to do any tests! WOW!
