Anne Matava

Anne kindly sent me this because I was being observed and I needed a good story that appeals to things that really happen to kids.  She had already done “grounded” in a previous story, but I had to add it as a structure. But my kids already knew “shows”. Thank you, Anne. It is a very good story.

shows

Jake is grounded because he shot the Easter Bunny.  He sits in his room and sings “I Shot the Easter Bunny.”  His friend Lindsey knocks on his window and says, “Jake!  Come outside!”  She holds up (shows him) a toaster.  Jake says, “I can’t!  I’m grounded!”  Lindsey goes away.

Jake sits in his room and sings “I Shot the Easter Bunny.”  Gabi knocks on his window and shows him a toaster and Lindsey’s hand.  She wants to toast Lindsey’s hand with Jake.  She says, “Jake!  Come outside!”  “I can’t!  I”m grounded!” says JakeGabi goes away.

Jake sits in his room and sings “I Shot the Easter Bunny.”  Mr. Lynch knocks on his window and shows him a flame thrower.  “Jake!  Come outside!” he says.  Jake sees the flame thrower and says, “I’m not allowed to, but I’m coming outside.”  He goes outside.  Mr. Lynch and Jake throw flames at the neighbor’s cat.
