Ben Slavic is a nationally recognized TPRS and Comprehensible Input expert who has spent decades helping teachers understand and apply these ideas in their classrooms. He has given workshops and lectures across the United States, spoken regularly at major TPRS conferences, and helped thousands of teachers strengthen their confidence and effectiveness.

His innovations have reshaped how language teachers approach instruction. He created the Square and Star methods for high school CI teaching, invented OWI’s, and developed the Word Chunk Team game—all tools that have become staples in CI classrooms around the globe.

Four Decades of Impact
1980’s – 2020’s
Taught language in the classroom for decades while developing ideas, tools, and approaches that would later help teachers far beyond his own students.
2006
Began training teachers in TPRS and CI, bringing his classroom experience into workshops, conferences, and professional development.
2007 – Present
Published a growing body of books on TPRS and CI instruction, giving teachers practical guidance they could return to again and again.
2015-2016
Taught at the American Embassy School in India, extending his work into an international classroom setting.
Innovation
Created One Word Images, the Word Chunk Team Game, and the Star Method — practical tools that became part of CI classrooms around the world.
