Here is an update from Victoria:
There is a lot of negativity and grumpiness in the country, and in Ukrainians, even those who have left Ukraine.
I don’t think they will give me the US passport for Alegría, since the embassy in Kiev stopped working. Now they are asking if I can go reapply in Poland 🇵🇱, I said “No way, it’s not possible!”, so then they asked if I can go to Lviv, which is 12h driving from here. I responded to them describing that I have 3 little ones. I’ll see what they say.
It’s so unfortunate, I did everything, filled out the forms, the interview, the payments, they told me they will ship it to my home address. 2 days later they are closed and now I have to travel again to reapply. I’m at the end of my rope. Honestly so much I did, so much bureaucracy here in Ukraine to get her birth certificate and apply for the US passport in Kiev and now there’s another problem. *sigh*
So tomorrow I’m getting her birth certificate done (hopefully if these people won’t invent another problem for me) and I’ll know if I have to travel to Lviv or the the embassy can assist us some other way. Pray for us 🙏
