I refuse to let the molders of my world, esp. right now, influence my mood. We will eventually break down – to dust – the old curriculum, and happiness and unforced communication will define our days doing our jobs.
Yes, we have been slaves to the corporate suck-need, their view of education, their need to make of us a market. But that’s what the current crisis is all about. Something new, a very loving and giving version of language education where happiness pervades, is on its way to us.
Do not despair – I say to my colleagues that we will gain our freedom from depression and hopelessness as language teachers. Stay the course, be part of we how are now finally redefining language education and stay strong.
The new curriculum will be the language – pure and simple. And God’s love will come back into our classrooms.
All will be well. The darkest hour is always just before the dawn. Stay strong and battle hard. Even if you only have a shovel or just a hammer, fight on.
What we are fighting is no match for us. Remember that.
