I got this email from Craig today. He shares an awesome insight:
So now in my 5th year at this school (continuation school). I’m really seeing that language learning and language ability is all about imagination and creativity. I’ve worked this long at a school full of students who are completely lacking in creativity and imagination. That is why they don’t care about this class. I don’t think it’s my lack of compelling input. For a creative person, a conversation about something fun and something new to learn is compelling enough. I think the only thing I can really do with these guys is just to give them an activity to do each day, and give them the opportunity to either pass or fail it.
