A question from Sean in Chicago:
I would love to hear how teachers inspire their students to create meaningful and colorful (figuratively speaking) invisible characters. I’m finding the need to help my students with this. Perhaps I could have them sketch three characters, share, get feedback from their peers, then choose one of the three to revise/ redraw/ develop. I’ve done the Town Hall Meeting before, and that was great. But I still need more than just a couple of decently created characters to present to the Town Hall Meeting committee!
I have small classes so I really need my students need to put more effort in their characters. I know it’s the time of year where they are just lacking in effort and inspiration in general. I believe the Invisibles are the way to go, still, I just need to find a way to help them get inspired to create meaningful and colorful characters. I don’t mind taking up lots of class time to do it. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!
ciao,
Sean
