From Julia, who is just getting the Invisibles going in her classroom:
OK, I assigned jobs and we created our first character. There was A LOT of excitement and talking over each other. I forgot to post the Classroom Rules but I will for next class. The excitement felt good but the chaos didn’t. I lost control of the class.
However, they were excitedly talking about our project outside in the hall to other students after class.
Here’s an ethics question. They want for his problem (he’s a peanut) to be that he’s hooked on salt. He’s cocky because he inherited a lot of money from his uncle, Mr. Peanut.
Question 1: Is the storyline that he’s hooked on a substance ok? These kids are in 9th grade from privileged backgrounds. Perhaps substance use is an issue for them?
Question 2: We are making a class website. Can kids who are actors be shown on the website? I believe I have release forms for them, but regardless, is that a good idea?
