It always comes down to submitting docs, it seems, and we just need to get the problem solved. If anyone has a middle school unit plan S/S we need one for a middle school teacher:
Basically she says that after ten years of TPRS, in the past three years has lost a lot of her energy and passion for the method, but has regained the essence of CI from the Big CI Book, and now needs Understanding by Design docs for her school.
Here is a teacher burnt out on TPRS having to not only try to keep it interesting to herself but then turn around over her summer and submit a totally meaningless document to over-controlling district people who – if you saw Michael Moore’s thing on Finland – don’t deserve to be messing with us like that.
Please help us locate a nice document and we will share it on the Curriculum Docs hard link as well, if we get one.

Bonjour M. Slavic,
J’ai commandé votre nouveau livre, The Big CI book, en mai. Je ne l’ai pas encore terminé mais je voudrais vous remercier. Je commencerai ma dixième année d’enseignement en août et depuis le début j’ai fait TPRS. Désormais, les trois ans passés j’ai perdu beaucoup de mon énergie et passion pour la méthode. En lisant votre livre, j’ai déjà regagné l’essence de CI et aussi mon désir de l’utiliser.
Je vais enseigner pour la première fois cette année un cours niveau collègien “exploratory” par semestre. Aussi dans mon district on est obligé de planifier avec Understanding by Design. Comment est-ce que je peux planifier le cours en forme des unités avec Comprehensible Input? Est-ce que vous connaissez des profs au niveau collège qui fait CI et UbD?
Je suis la seule prof de français dans mon district.
