Invisibles Detail

To clear up a bit of confusion, we first create One Word Images, which is an all class activity, and then we make Invisibles stories from them, and then after that we invite the kids to make their own individually created characters, and then make more Invisibles stories from them. In my experience the best Invisibles stories come from those individually created characters, which only get to be considered for a story if they have the bio information on the back of the drawing. If they don’t have a stated problem on the back in that bio information, the character isn’t allowed into a story. That makes the “problem of creating the problem” go away. That is the best way to do it.
