Question

I got this question from a member who just joined our group today. A group answer is requested, to give this person, in Germany, a full response:

Dear Ben,

I have a question about CIRCLING with advanced students (I’m new to TPRS). The situation is as follows:

I started with my seventh graders in year one using TPR and other CI methods (e.g. telling stories with the help of pictures). The class has eleven students and by now ten of them can often express their ideas in some elementary English and two of them are already on their way to communicate fluently. (One student came years later and is still struggling very hard to even understand.)

I did a story with three structures which I circled but the YES and NO questions brought me “the look”. Perhaps they felt that after working on retelling short, interesting newspaper articles since year six I was selling them short.

So, if you have anything for me I would be most grateful.
