Angie Pidgeon has seen lots of ideas come and go on this PLC. Here is her assessment of the new Invisibles idea:
Hi, Ben!!
The invisibles are a hit in my high school Spanish classes in San Angelo, Texas. I teach Spanish 2 and Spanish 2 Pre-AP. And the stories are BETTER in the on-level classes than in the advanced class. I am IN LOVE with this method, and I’m never going back. I was scared, really scared when I asked them to create a character. We’d done a few stories – old school way – and I just decided to try the invisibles. I am SO, SO happy that I did. They think they are the ones who are in charge, and you know what, THEY ARE. The pressure is OFF. Whew. If I can just remember to go slow. Gosh, I need to go more slowly. But, I can work on my storytelling, and they just sit back and enjoy making up stories. It’s nothing like the old-school way. It’s just free and honest and pure. Thank YOU.
Angie
