What are people doing for bathroom policies this year?
Mine has always been they can’t go in the first or last 10′ of class, since they should be going during the break, unless of course it’s an emergency. During the middle part of class, they can slide out quietly, but only two can go (emergencies excepted of course). In this way, they police each other and call out the offending kids going out for their daily stroll so I don’t have to. When I announce this policy at the beginning of the year I tell them that research shows that 1.79 kids on average, in a class of 30 students, need to use the bathroom in a typical 52′ class, so my offer of two kids per class is generous. They believe me.
