I have stuck the two previous posts about Grant’s need for our help at the top of the posted articles for a reason: Grant’s deadline is coming up and he needs our help. Some have commented and thanks. Sean that was great. And some are sending Grant personal feedback to:

We benefit because we see good teaching. I will add these links to the Videos hard link above. What we need to do by the end of the month (is that date right, Grant?) is simple.
1. We watch as much video of him teaching as we can. Evan a few minutes during a planning period. Anything.
2. We comment here or personally via the above email address about what we see in the teaching.
3. If you are among the 10% or 20% of PLC members who have that rare capacity to articulate what Grant is doing in terms of desired ACTFL talking points (see previous articles) then you relate those points to Grant as well.
Here’s the history – a few TPRS people have made it to the “Big Five” of the ACTFL Teacher of the Year process. Personally I thought Bob Patrick should have won it in 2014 representing the Southeast Region, but he didn’t. I think it is because of politics – ACTFL knew what a kick ass program Bob had built in Atlanta but they couldn’t quite get themselves to give him the National TOY award because he shamelessly touts CI, what he calls teaching “understood messages”. But maybe 2016 is the year we could actually get ACTFL to honestly assess the work of one of us, and that would be a big break in the dam for all of us. It’s going to happen some year, so why not in 2016?
OK that is your pep talk. Go carve out some time for Grant. Do it. Before the end of the month. It’s not like Grant didn’t bust his butt putting iFLT together for Carol and the rest of us all last summer, a process he started in February. He gave us all that time, so now we have to give some back to him.
