I was just talking with Linda Li and she told me that ten years ago in China she tried a yoga class, her first ever, and it was at the wrong level. She said that that bad experience has never left her. She feels that it prevented her from trying yoga again. We both agreed that the implications of this are that in terms of first exposure to learning a language, or learning anything, cannot be negative. It has to be pleasant. What does that say about what many in our profession who still cling to the old ways are doing? What is their work for?
