Circling
Hi Ben, I’m attaching my PPT about circling, maybe other people can modify it and use it for their own presentations. About 20 colleagues attended the in-service at the community college where I teach at night. It was well received, but I couldn’t help noticing how every other presenter shared their a method to force output.
There is such a driven pace (textbook) and lack of understanding about SLA theory. I think many students also are impatient, they want to speak, but cannot do much, so they like being required to do so. Maybe that’s what they’re used to after years of classes.
Anyway, I felt good about sharing a concrete tool and demonstrating it well. The video I embedded of Diane teaching Mandarin does not show up always in the PPT, so here’s the link to the YouTube video itself, people can embed it if they like. If someone improves the PPT, maybe they can post a copy for all?
