If you need a little chuckle this morning here’s one. My favorite is the advertisement in the third paragraph. Unless, of course, you think that by filling out their survey something will happen. I don’t:
Dear Colleague,
ACTFL will soon be launching a sixteen month initiative, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, to support all language educators to help learners build literacy through language learning. Before starting the project, we need to identify what is already happening to help you link literacy and languages. The questions are related to implementation of your state’s standards around literacy. Please complete the online survey TODAY!
Specifically in questions #3, #3A, #9 and #10, consider your state’s standards for English Language Arts/Literacy and the connections being made with teaching languages.
Question #6 specifically asks if your response to the effectiveness of the type of professional development you received was based on your experiences with ACTFL, such as through ACTFL workshops, webinars, publications, online resources, coaching, or email contacts.
The Teacher Practice Networks Annual Survey is designed to better understand what kinds of supports are helping teachers implement new state standards. Your feedback will help the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) as well as the national Teacher Practice Networks community to improve and extend our work.
Please complete the online survey TODAY, November 7.
Thank you for your time and for your valuable feedback!
