It seems to me that more than a few of us have presented on the method in some professional setting in recent months. I see this as worthy of note. So let’s make a list. If you presented to a group of teachers lately, please send me, in the following format so I don’t have to edit, what you did. I could even see us making a list of the handouts we prepared for our presentations available somewhere on this site.
Like for me, I did this:
Ben Slavic –
iFLT – Denver, CO – July 2014
NTPRS – Chicago, IL – July 2014
Valor Christian High School, Denver, CO – Sept 2014
Swedish School of Colorado, Denver, CO – October 2014
Brigitte Kahn –
LILT (Long Island Language Teachers) Conference, Comsewogue High School, Port Jefferson Station, NY – October 2013
LILT Workshop, Massapequa, NY – February 2014
FLACS (Foreign Language Association of Chairpeople and Supervisors) Conference, Queens, NY – April 2014
Send ’em in to benslavic@yahoo.com. The fact that we as members of a group are going around and presenting to other groups teachers should be noted. We are not boring. We are not consumer teachers. We are not sitting around on our asses. People want to know things about teaching that we do in our classrooms. We are doing something. We give back to the profession.
I’ll publish the list on Friday.
