Dear Ben,
I just wanted to give you an update about what is happening over here in France. Fifteen people from 8 countries, the USA, Canada, France, Germany, Holland, Spain, England and Scotland, have officially registered for the TPRS Workshop in Agen. (The lady from Scotland insisted that she is not English.) Seven or eight more have told me they intend to come. Three people registered immediately after my presentation at TESOL’s Spring Day in Strasbourg, which was well received. 🙂
Because we’ve outgrown our original site, I’ve been looking for another one and today the Centre Culturelle of Agen agreed to rent me some nice rooms. I haven’t been able to get much coverage from the local press up until now, but today I talked to a journalist who is going to run a short article now and a longer one next month.
All the information about the workshop is at my new blog TPRS Witch http://tprswitch.jimdo.com. I’ve also created a facebook page for the workshop with the same name: TPRS Witch.
So yes, this is really going to happen! I’m still trying to get the word out to local teachers, who don’t belong to TESOL and normally only do the professional training that is paid for and approved by the national ministry of education. I’ve offered a place to their representative, but he has yet to reply.
