Grammar is correcly spoken speech in three dimensions. It has been trapped and wrestled down out of its pure form, the way all people learn real grammar, and it has been stuck onto paper and forced into that one (mechanical mental) dimension.
It has been shoved into the left hemisphere of the brain, where it loses its true three dimensional spoken form, and where, in a classroom, it suffocates the interest of the language learner.
The beautiful winged bird, so alive and beautiful in human speech, has been drawn to to the deck of the ship by the hack sailors/language teachers who want to control it and keep it on paper. Grammar has been made into the mental plaything of editors/word mechanics, those few snobs who can handle rules that are incomprehensible to the masses.
Grammar has in this way been claimed as the property of the few, when in reality, in its true three dimensional beauty of sound, it belongs to all of the people, to all who are absolutely fluent in the language from birth and yet know nothing of this one dimensional elitist grammar system sold by the few.
It’s over for the few. Their time of misrepresenting grammar, of owning grammar, of keeping grammar to themselves, of making grammar a flat thing, of stuffing grammar into a bag, is over. The beauty of language will slowly return and there is nothing they can do about it. We will all get a brand new start.
