The Learning Styles Inventory is something that I just never got around to, but I am determined to get it published here and in use in my classroom in October. I think it is the perfect thing for October to cement my positive relationship with my kids.
And, of course, I want to do the same using the strong relationship building tool of assigning the kids even more jobs.
I think that using both LSI and assigning all kinds of jobs now in October is pretty much going to kick some ass in the personalization area and possibly guarantee the best year ever. I’ll get to the LSI discussion here post haste, but the jobs are already listed as a category here or on the resources page of this site so there is no need to do anything but print a list and staple it to my forehead in class to get that valuable personalization tool really rolling in my classroom in October.
I know that jobs are best when they emerge organically in the daily classroom process and are not forced, but, when I’ve done it that way, I have always ended the year with 40 of the 50 jobs unfilled, and so I am going to experiment with pro-actively hiring more teens now in October and see what happens.
