There is embedded reading. I would add to that embedded stories. How? If the story rocked on M/Tu, and I don’t feel like going to a reading of it on Wednesday, I just spend the entire class on Wednesday reviewing in loose fashion the story, making sure that I use one of the target structures in each sentence I say. It’s a nice Wednesday option allowing me to embed the story with a lot of new stuff, like hanging lights on a Christmas tree. Some stories just don’t want to be shoved aside by a reading. Of course, another way to do that is just spin a new story from the actual Wednesday reading.
