Conflict 2

Last month Lea wrote on the general topic of keeping the professional peace and I repost it here because I need to read it over and over again.

It is the way I personally want to move forward in my own interactions with others about what we do. I really want to remember it:

… i would stay away from choosing The One Thing that Everyone Must Do. Instead, i would talk to colleagues individually about what is important to them. where they are in their journey. what new ideas they have been trying. what they are interested in exploring next. basically, you want to help them listen to the stirrings in their heart, and help embolden them to follow whatever is calling to them. that’s what i want in a department chair, someone who will listen to me and help me, not someone on a crusade to prove how good they are by making their goals happen. i want someone to find out and help me with my goals.
