I read this in the school news:
A sophomore this year, Sandy Romero has improved her time by 9 minutes in the 5K from last year. Sandy worked very hard this summer and didn’t miss a single cross country training session all summer.
I would be a fool to not do a story about this French student. But if I don’t have a story about distance running, what to do? I don’t know how, but I will find a way to get her into the next story. Maybe she will just run by in the middle of the story, with no other role than that, for a total of three sentences and three minutes (for circling of the three sentences). Perhaps embedding something about her in a reading and then spinning a discussion from that will work. I won’t miss this opportunity.
