I haven’t tried One Word Images this early, here at the end of the first week of instruction, but it works, with the qualification that the kids can’t handle more than the first three questions on the prompt list, maybe about ten minutes of circling.
So, just to share with those who might be doing Circling with Balls right now (level 1 only), you may want to consider starting class with a one word image for about ten minutes (you will feel it when the kids are saturated).
This change provides the kids with a break from the cards as well. Also, consider extending the PQA on the card. Extending the PQA on the card and doing some brief work in each class period with one word images provides contrast and variety to just doing the cards.
