  1. My comment is that I will now fight with renewed fervor to promote equity in the form of non-targeted WL instruction. This is all I needed to light a fire under me. Now I am not afraid of fighting with a dagger in my teeth and bare hands. Now I get fully get it. But whom to fight? Like the college loan industry, the national testing corporate offices are impossible to visit in the way Michael Moore goes into them physically and confronts. So where to find the testing industry rats? It doesn’t matter. My new guerrilla brand of fighting (Tina is teaching me) is to promote the antidote. What is the antidote to their greed? What is the rat poison we have for them? It is that we should focus only on just getting better and better and better and better at non-targeted instruction because, unlike what some think, it can uplift our students into positions of parity in the classroom that will then cause the testing industry to have no reason to exist. When all students are happy and learning, then where is the need to test? When all students are learning so much that they all stay in the programs and the programs grow, then schools will have to choose between funding testing or funding new teachers. They won’t be able to do both.

    1. “…fighting with a dagger in my teeth and bare hands. ” “My new guerrilla brand of fighting (Tina is teaching me) is to promote the antidote. ” Yes. At times it can seem lonely for some of us but when we get REAL big, that is when they may try and divide us. How can they with all the student support?

  2. As an outsider to US education, it is obvious that education has become a business. Underfund public schools so people send their kids to private schools. Force all this testing (which has to be paid for). Insist on elitist programs that are expensive. Convince people that the only way to success is to follow a certain program or textbook. Then there are colleges.
I just read this article from The Atlantic, though it’s not new. https://www.theatlantic.com/national/archive/2012/10/ap-classes-are-a-scam/263456/?utm_source=atlfb
