The teacher is the language parent. All you want to do is communicate with the kids. So, do what is necessary to make that happen. My mom was the “language parent” to my wife and my wife owes the majority of her acquisition to her. And my mom doesn’t have any “training in teaching languages.” She just wanted to understand and be understood.
