About The Training
The CI Professional Development You’ve Been Waiting For
Most professional development lasts a few days and disappears by Monday. These Saturday trainings are different. Over 11 months you’ll master two powerful CI approaches — One Word Images (OWIs) and the Word Chunk Team Game (WCTG) — with hands-on coaching every week until you’ve truly got it.
Ben works in small groups because real learning requires real trust — the kind where you can be vulnerable, ask the same question twice, and practice in front of your peers without feeling judged. That’s what turns a Saturday session into a classroom breakthrough.

Testimonials
What Teachers Are Saying About The Saturday Trainings
“Your Saturday OWI trainings are the only ones I’ve found that perfectly balance CI research and student-centered learning without the burnout. I love how OWIs blend co-creating meaning with research-backed SEL. Your term Dance of Language perfectly describes the OWI experience. Thank you for grounding us in Somatic CI and teaching us those specific steps and acronyms.”

“Suddenly, because of the Saturday classes, the process seems so much more doable for me.”
Jeri C.
“The Saturday classes have completely transformed my teaching. After almost 30 years, I am revitalized. I have eliminated vocabulary sheets and am teaching small stories and characters in context. It is sticking! Kids actually know the words, they are speaking in sentences, they know how to correct their own mistakes, and language is being used. It is fast-paced and doesn’t get boring. The kids are choosing what they want to learn, so it holds their attention. Also, the Saturday classes have introduced me to like-minded teachers that have now become friends and a support system that I rely on to help navigate our ridiculously outdated language education system.”
Nikki M.
“Your work has changed me as a teacher and a person, and I just want to say thank you. It’s been so much better than the years of the online CI PLCs I’ve been a part of. Your Saturday trainings on OWIs have been the best PD of my career.”
Ian S.
“Thanks to Ben’s Saturday trainings, I am well on my way towards developing a style of teaching that does not require silly daily planning and gives us our lives back. Thank you so much, Ben!”
John W.
“Ben provides the most cutting-edge language teacher trainings that I know of. His ideas have the side-effect of drawing students to language learning vs. pushing them away from it, promoting their development and internal motivation of students through the strong SEL and DEI human-affirming pieces that are everywhere in his approach.”
Dana F.
“Through the entire Zoom class today I felt an energy, a sparkle of magic that flew into my life. It’s so natural. The Triangle always sets you on the right track. If you get off track it will bring you back. I am excited and nervous, because I teach in a traditional, grammar-oriented, test-oriented school. I have felt shackled by this, and I often feel an unsurmountable amount of pressure from others to do what they, not I, think is best. It’s forced, unnatural and fake. I am feeling relieved and confident in Ben’s approach.”

Questions And Answers
Good Questions. Straight Answers.
Why 11 months? That seems like a serious commitment.
Consider the disparity: medical doctors undergo eight years of rigorous preparation, yet educators often receive only a few days of training per year. Every teacher in this program receives hands-on, individualized coaching — we don’t move on until everyone who wants coaching has received it, especially around classroom management. Eleven months is what real mastery takes.
Why only 20 teachers per session?
Real learning requires real trust — the kind where you can be vulnerable, ask questions without judgment, and practice in front of your peers. That only happens in small groups. Many participants stay connected long after the training ends and continue to support one another. That kind of community simply doesn’t happen in a large group.
Do I have to teach in front of the group?
Nobody is required to teach on Saturday unless they feel comfortable — and some participants never do. That’s completely fine. The goal is your growth, at your own pace.
I’ve tried TPRS before and it didn’t go well. Will that hold me back?
Not at all. OWIs and the Triangle differ from TPRS by being significantly more manageable. This approach is more organized and eliminates much of the complexity that makes TPRS feel overwhelming. If anything, starting without deeply ingrained TPRS habits can be an advantage.
I teach online. Does this work for virtual classrooms?
Yes. The effectiveness of One Word Images for online language teaching was widely confirmed by hundreds of educators during the pandemic. The approach translates directly to virtual instruction.
What about younger learners?
The Triangle curriculum was originally developed in collaboration with elementary CI expert Karin Trouyet to fill a gap for younger learners. It has since evolved into an excellent tool for all levels. Ben suggests starting no earlier than 3rd grade.
Can I earn professional certification?
Yes. Professional Certification is available in both One Word Images (OWI) and the Word Chunk Team Game (WCTG), granting you the official right to train other educators in both methods. Contact Ben for details on the application process.
