I grew up outside of Charlotte and it is the loveliest place.
Here is a prime opportunity to enact the TPRS curriculum take-over we’re plotting right now.

(.5 FTE in lovely small community, my employer the last 8 years, flexible with if you teach full-time half the year or half-time all year, and have been able to rent me out to neighboring districts to add up to full-time)
Claire,
It is very pleasant indeed! Housing costs are lower than in most big cities, the weather is better, the traffic is not horrible, and it is great for families. 3 hours to the beach, 2 hours to the mountains, with a large international airport, big league sports, theater, restaurants, everything you would expect in a big city.
I really want to get someone energetic and passionate into this position to inspire me as well. It is a full load, independent school style – 4 classes 2 preps, teaching ALL the students in 2 different grades. I took the position because of the freedom and the admin support for TPRS. At this point it really feels like a blank canvas which we can do some amazing things upon!
Please contact me for more details!
An all tprs middle school! Awesome possum.
I know, it almost makes a person want to move. Almost. I just figure, stay here and grow my own all TPRS middle school. 😉
Robert Gray is already all TPRS and my school is close behind. And I just found out that the Lincoln (my feeder high school) principal’s son will be in my 7th grade French class next year…so that is some good opportunity for PR right there, amirite?
I get tempted by these other places and then I think of the cross-stitch Mom had in our bathroom as a kid. “Bloom Where You’re Planted.” I’m trying to help Portland Public Schools bloom.
And I get to meet Diana Noonan this summer…and maybe also Beth from Poudre, a nearby district Ben tells me is not far behind! Maybe I can learn their Jedi ways.
I hear that Tina! I really miss those days working with other language teachers in the same building.
I am so excited for my next adventure though… lone wolf again, but full-time in one building with 4 levels and I get to teach my first level 4 class of my career. And a cherry on top, I observed the teacher I will be replacing, she was in her first year with TPRS and moving up the road closer to home, and she will be a blast to collaborate with. (I feel like I may have shared this already, and if so, my apologies… I guess I’m just excited.)
Im excited for you jim!
