I’m in Zach Al Moreno’s classroom right now and just saw a cool idea. When one kid sings, Zach has him merely lip-sync it, while another kid actually sings it. Very effective.
Zach’s class is just full full full of repeated questions. He is staying in the language. He is not using nearly as much L1 as I do. I have to learn. Same with Linda. She is always in Mandarin.
Just a note on Zach’s process. In the last class they created a story. Then, today, before any reading happens, he does a nice kind of recycling of the story, again all in Spanish. Very effective.
Then the kids act out the story, these are all things mentioned in Reading Option A. I wish I had this class on videotape for the group.
